A Word From The Youth Director

Hello!

On this page you will find everything you need to know about our Church’s youth group, The Good Soil. We drew from the parable of the sower, found in Luke 8:4-15 for the name and mission of our group. Our desire is to see the students who walk through our door live out their lives as good soil; “As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.” (Luke 8:15). We long to see the students who graduate, leaving rooted and established in the love of Christ (Eph. 3:17) who will then go forth and proclaim that love to others.

My heart’s desire is to see this generation of “youth” on fire for Jesus. I became involved in this youth group through the four-year youth ministry internship through St Clement. I was discipled, trained and mentored by incredible men and women of the Lord into what it meant to run a youth group and be a godly (to the best of my ability) leader. Throughout this process the Lord pressed into my heart a love for the teenagers in this group, a desire to see them grow, be discipled and to spread the Love of Christ. Isaiah 61:1-3 has been near and dear to my heart throughout the past several years; to see chains broken and captives liberated, for crowns of beauty to be placed on the heads of our youth instead of a sack of ashes. Our hope is to seeour students on fire for the Lord, to have a desire to serve those around them, to be an example of God’s Love and proclaim the Gospel.

    Youth ministry Assistant

Hello everyone! My name is Claire Zuloaga and I am so happy to be serving the church and our youth group students in ministry. I currently attend New Mexico State University, where I am majoring in Journalism & Media Studies with minors in Creative Writing and Social Media Management. I absolutely love working with the youth ministry and am so grateful that God has given me the opportunity to pour my love out to 20ish students every week.  I have a huge heart for sharing the Lord each and every time I interact with those kids, and I hope to get the opportunity to share that with you all in time.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH TO GROW + SERVE:

    Catechism

Our leaders and other faithful adults help the children’s ministry on Sunday mornings by teaching the middle school class. New students are always welcome to join us!

    Events:

Every year, we get to attend many events, by the Grace of God, where students get to interact with the Lord in unique and special ways. Some of these include retreats, local outreaches, and summer camp.

    Worship:

We are always looking for musically inclined students who want to be apart of our worship team! If you are interested give our worship leader,  Claire Zuloaga, an email at communications@stclements.com.

mission

Our mission is to love Jesus with all our heart, soul, strength and mind and to become more and more like Him. We do this by leading teenagers into a personal relationship with Jesus and and teach them Spiritual disciplines to use the gifts that God has given them. We work to form and support a Christ-centered peer group for teenagers and believe that an essential part of our purpose is to support parents in their calling to raise Christian children!

We greatly value teaching and learning about the Scripture, as well as telling those outside the Church about Jesus. We believe that God speaks clearly and individually through His Holy Spirit and that each of us are given supernatural gifts. We desire to see each member of our group using these gifts in leadership both inside and outside of the Church. As a community, we value worshipping God through music, our service to our neighbors, and our regular mission work and mission trips.
