A Word From The Youth Director

Welcome to the web’s manifestation of the St. Clement’s Youth Ministry! In the pages below  you’ll find information about us and what we do, information about our meetings times and  activities, as well as some of the values and thinking behind why we do what we do.

Research shows that the church youth group experience is crucial to the development of a healthy, teenage, Christian faith. In childhood, parents take a lead role, but as children move into adolescence, suddenly they are paying attention to other mentors, (whether they are coaches, teachers or youth group leaders) and trying to fit into groups of peers. Our desire and design is to try to serve you, the parent, in your raising of your kids to follow Jesus, by providing trustworthy (and fun) mentors, and a Christ-centered peer group that can surround and support your teenagers faith.

Please feel free to contact me, Steven Tighe, with any questions or concerns.

Passionately in Jesus,

  • Kristie

    intern since: June 2013

Is currently pursuing a BA in Psychology from UTEP in hopes to counsel young adults and adolescents who have experienced trauma. God has given her a passion to see God's love revealed to the youth of El Paso.

  • Adam

assistant youth director since: June 2017

Is the youth worship leader studying Fine Arts at UTEP pursuing a Music degree. He has done several mission training schools with Youth with a Mission YWAM) such as: Discipleship Training School, School of Evangelism, and School of Worship.  He desires to see kids be who God has made them to be and so that they can experience the fullness of his presence in worship.

Our mission is to love Jesus with all our heart, soul, strength and mind and to become more and more like Him. We do this by leading teenagers into a personal relationship with Jesus and and teach them Spiritual disciplines to use the gifts that God has given them. We work to form and support a Christ-centered peer group for teenagers and believe that an essential part of our purpose is to support parents in their calling to raise Christian children!

We greatly value teaching and learning about the Scripture, as well as telling those outside the Church about Jesus. We believe that God speaks clearly and individually through His Holy Spirit and that each of us are given supernatural gifts. We desire to see each member of our group using these gifts in leadership both inside and outside of the Church. As a community, we value worshipping God through music, our service to our neighbors, and our regular mission work and mission trips.

upcoming events

November 9th: Parent Meeting
November 18: Lock-In
November 24: Thanksgiving Outreach

Our life and faith are shaped by the things we do together: we regularly meet on Wednesday night (6-8 p.m.) for a time of games, snacks, worship, teaching, and discipleship groups. We also meet after the 10:45 a.m. service on Sundays for lunch together. We have the students back to the Youth Activity Center by 1:30.

We generally have a retreat and a lock-in every semester. Our big events every year include: King’s Kids Spring Break Outreach (a missions program hosted by St. Clements for the week of Spring Break), a mission trip at some point (Last year we spent a week in Guatemala), as well as a trip to the Jesus Culture conference in Los Angeles. After the Fall retreat and Lock-in, we end the year with a visit to the International House of Prayer in Kansas City for the (fabulous) One Thing Conference.
