A letter from the Children's Ministry Director

Children are more than a gift from the Lord, they are a physical model of how we are invited to come to God: as a child. We love children and our desire is that each child comes to know how loved and special they are to God. We desire that they come to know how unique and “in the image of God” they were created. We pray they will know  the peace of having a personal relationship with the Heavenly Father. Jesus is our Hero. He is the one who literally gave His life so we could be restored to God the Father. Everything we do is with this mission in mind. As we teach and model what it means to live a life as a child of God, our prayer is that they will grow deeper in their own relationship with Jesus, as their Savior.

Vacation Bible School 2017

What to expect for your children:

We are so glad that you are visiting our church. We have two objectives in our children’s ministry. The first is to partner with parents to bring children to know Jesus, and the Father who loves them unconditionally. All children are invited to Kid’s Connection. We also invite all parents to sit in on any class they would like to attend. We value parental input and help. The second objective we have is for the children’s physical safety. All of our volunteers are personally known by the staff here at St Clements and we can confidently attest to their “walks” with the Lord as well as the personal integrity of each of them. Background checks are run on all of our volunteers. Several also have CPR and First Aid training. Because we care about your child’s safety, we require that parents check their children in to the area of ministry that they will be attending. For all children preschool and under, we ask that you also come and check them out. Kinder – 5th grade will be taken to the sanctuary for communion and we will help them finding you in the sanctuary.

saturday evening service

There is no nursery provided at this service, but we welcome your little ones to stay with you in the service. There are also Bible story books and coloring sheets at the back of the church for your children’s enjoyment.

There is Bible School for ages 5-5th grade. They meet upstairs in the Preschool Room. We encourage you to take them up there before the service begins. If you would like them to take communion with you, you may go get them during the passing of the peace.

Sunday morning services:

8:30 Service: Infants and children through 5 years of age can be checked-in at the nursery for Bible Time, worship and playtime. Bible lessons are from Sunday School Fun Zone and emphasize God’s love for us and his invitation to have a personal relationship with Him. Our leaders foster special care and attention to each child for reinforcement of developmental skills. Children 6 years of age through 5th grade are welcome to start with their parents in the sanctuary. At the close of the gospel reading, children can proceed out the front right door to the Welcome Center where they are met by their Sunday School teacher and led to their Bible class for the duration of the sermon. They will return to the sanctuary to attend communion with their parents.

10:45 Service: Please check your children in to the appropriate area before the service starts (ages and rooms are listed below). Instructions for communion: For nursery through preschool - if you would like them to join you for communion, feel free to slip out during the passing of the peace to get them from their classroom. Kinder through 5th grade is brought into the sanctuary before communion to join you for the remainder of the service.

Infants and children through 2 years of age are welcome in the nursery for Bible Time, worship and playtime. This is a specialized lesson for infants through 2 years of age that celebrates each child, the love of Jesus, and whatever special Timeless Truth we are emphasizing. We cover one topic each month. Please watch the short video on this curriculum.

Preschoolers 3-5 years of age meet in the Wonder Room (located downstairs in the church basement) for singing, crafts, snacks and Bible lessons from Sunday School Fun Zone. These lessons emphasize God’s love for us and his invitation to have a personal relationship with Him. Our leaders foster special care and attention to each child for reinforcement of developmental skills.

Kinder – 5t grade meet in the Kid’s Cove (located downstairs in the church basement) for Kid’s Connection. This summer we are combining the age groups in an interactive large group and then broken up for small group discussion. Our curriculum, called Firestarters, is about living a supernatural life as a child of God.
